Il progetto HAwK proposto da Domenico Nucera (DIG), Luca Bertulessi (DEIB) e Tommaso Maioli (alumnus Politecnico di Milano) ha vinto il Grant S2P, nella categoria "Industry Transformation", classificandosi tra i 26 team vincitori su un totale di 250 progetti presentati al programma Switch2Product organizzato da PoliHub, Technology Transfer Office del Politecnico di Milano e Officine Innovazione di Deloitte.
HAwK è un acceleratore hardware per l’analisi di dati provenienti da sensori ad elevato data rate con lo scopo di ridurre costi e consumo energetico, abilitando Intelligenza Artificiale “on edge”.
Il premio di 30.000 euro servirà per lo sviluppo tecnologico del progetto che verrà realizzato con la scientific advisory dei Proff. Marco Macchi e Luca Fumagalli del DIG e del Prof. Salvatore Levantino del DEIB.
Domenico Nucera ha iniziato il Dottorato di Ricerca in Management Engineering nel XXXVII ciclo e lavora da 2 anni presso il Laboratorio Industria 4.0 del DIG. Luca Bertulessi è ricercatore presso il Laboratorio ARPLab del DEIB. HAwK potrà quindi favorire anche lo sviluppo di attività cross-disciplinari tra i due citati laboratori di DIG e DEIB.
La cerimonia di premiazione si è svolta al MADE Competence Center Industria 4.0, nel campus Bovisa del Politecnico di Milano.

Project HAwK proposed by Domenico Nucera (DIG), Luca Bertulessi (DEIB) and Tommaso Maioli (alumnus Politecnico di Milano) has won the S2P Grant in the category “Industry Transformation”, ranking among the top 26 teams on a total of 250 projects presented at the Switch2Product program, organized by PoliHub, the Technology Transfer Office of Politecnico di Milano and Deloitte’s Officine Innovazione.
HAwK is a hardware accelerator for the analysis of data coming from high data rate sensors, with the aim of reducing costs and energy consumption, enabling Artificial Intelligence on edge.
The 30.000 euros prize will serve the purpose of the technological development of the project, which is going to be realized with the scientific advisory of DIG's Prof. Marco Macchi and Prof. Luca Fumagalli and DEIB's Prof. Salvatore Levantino.
Domenico Nucera has enrolled in the XXXVII PhD cycle in Management Engineering and has been working for 2 yeas at the Industry 4.0 Lab at DIG. Luca Bertulessi is a researcher at ARPLab at DEIB. HAwK will be able to promote potential cross-disciplinary activities between the above mentioned DIG and DEIB laboratories.
